About Me
Melissa Bell
She/Her
I have been obsessed with art my whole life.
I asked for my first camera around age 9 - a polaroid I-Zone Instant Sticker Camera. I was immediately addicted to catching moments of my life, on those tiny 1.5”x1” images that camera instantly printed.
Now, I shoot on my stunning DSLRs and edit in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop! After learning how to process film in a dark room, attending the Savannah College of Art and Design for my BFA in Film and Television Production, and working in advertising and production for 10+ years - I take pride in every shot I take!
I love photography, and I love making photoshoots fun for you! With my gentle guidance and understanding, I will prioritize your preferences, direct your poses, bring out your genuine smile, and only produce the best of the best images for you to choose! I want to make images that will have you saying CHECK MEOWT when we're done!
I pride myself in checking details of every image and pose - not a hair out of place, or something in your teeth on my watch! I am the utmost honest with my clients, as I want their total satisfaction with their experience with me.
I’m also happy to help with finding locations to shoot at, your wardrobe options, makeup looks (if you need a makeup artist, I can connect you with a few!), or assisting with conceptualizing your idea! The sky’s the limit with me, and I’m always down for new adventures in photo and video shooting.
I like to keep my editing process for 1-2 hour portrait/product/event shoots limited to two weeks processing, and weddings/documentaries/large events to 4-8 weeks.
When I’m not shooting photos or videos, or editing them in my home office, you can find me with a hot tea on my porch, listening to true crime podcasts, watching my dogs run around the yard, thrifting with my best friends, sewing or decorating costumes, and performing in live burlesque shows!
